¨ Sunday Mornings in F2G
Currently in F2G, we are looking at the theme of Bible characters. Some of the people we are focusing on are Moses, Noah and Abraham, to name a few. We hope that learning more about the stories and attitudes of Biblical men and women will enable us to see how God is working in our own lives.
The running of F2G is carried out by Mandy, Nigel and myself (Rach). We are using new material and resources from the Urban Saints ‘Energize’ website, which provides many ideas and planning tools.
¨ 1-to-1 Discipleship
Youth workers in our church have started carrying out discipleship sessions with some members of F2G. These informal chats aim to help the young people with their Christian walk, provide opportunities to ask questions and discuss topics, while also seeing how they are getting on in general. The sessions have proven to be very productive, and also fun!
Quick Chat with … Sarah Kerry!!!
¨ So, you’re in the band with your cool red guitar- how do you think music helps people to worship?
I think it helps people to get excited about God and helps them to prepare for listening to Him.
¨ What kind of Christian music do you like listening to?
My favourite Christian band is called Disciple, which is a screamo/metal band. I like that kind of music, along with rock.
¨ Yeah, they are a good band! You’re in Year 10- is it difficult being a Christian at school?
Well, I suppose for some people it would be, but for me it seems to be alright. I have lots of good friends, and they don’t see my faith as an issue.
¨ That’s really good. What sort of topics do you like discussing in F2G?
I like to see how Bible stories can be applied to modern day life. Also I enjoy finding out what Jesus was like when He came to earth- what kind of person He was.
¨ How would you like to further develop your relationship with God?
Well, maybe one day I’ll get baptised, but I need time to think about that.
¨ Thanks a lot Sarah, you can go and watch TV now!
No worries. Thanks!
